BetterBev is a free service supporting craft beverage manufacturers – breweries, wineries, kombucha makers and more – to help them improve production efficiency, worker health, and environmental performance.
The program works with all interested parties, from beginners looking for simple tips, to seasoned professionals investigating the latest green technologies. No matter where you are, BetterBev can help you take positive steps that meet your financial, operational, and strategic priorities.
What we offer
Formal recognition through the BetterBev Green Craft Beverage Recognition Program for producers that meet minimum performance thresholds after completing the BetterBev assessment process (currently available for breweries, coming soon for other manufacturers), which covers the key performance areas of raw materials; water use; wastewater; energy and emissions; cleaning and sanitizing; solid waste; packaging and materials; and environmental culture
Safer cleaning assessments and recommendations, through a partnership with Toxics Use Reduction Institute's Cleaning Laboratory at the University of Massachusetts Lowell to identify high-performing, cost-effective cleaning practices and products that reduce health and safety risks
Direct technical assistance to assess operations, make technical recommendations, find rebates and incentives (currently available in CT, ME, VT, NH, RI, MA, MD, PA, DE, and NC, with the network of TA providers growing)
Access to BetterBev's resource compendium and training and networking events
